Following a meeting with representatives of the Retail, Prime Minister Manuel Valls has accused the European Commission of “doing too little or too late” to solve the agricultural crisis in France, marked by price declines.
Mr. Valls stressed that they have released emergency measures since the beginning of the crisis, but the crisis is European.
He also asked the Commission to “activate the powers conferred on it in a crisis”, stating that it was “showing once again the mobilization” of the government to work with its stakeholders to reorganization the sector.
Note that manufacturers and distributors are currently engaged in the annual showdown to enter into commercial negotiations by February 29.
