Astronaut Scott Kelly, currently onboard the International Space Station, is nearly done with his year in space mission. He’s slated to return to Earth in the first week of March and because this is such a huge achievement (he’s also the longest-living US astronaut to do so), Captain Kelly decided to orbit out with a bang.
In what is the best prank ever – not just in the world but literally in the universe – Captain Kelly wore a huge gorilla suit to scare the living daylights out of his fellow astronauts onboard the station.
A video posted by him on Instagram a couple of hours ago shows a massive gorilla exiting a white bag and floating about in zero gravity on the space station. It then goes on to chase British astronaut Tim Peake who tries his level best to float as far away as possible from the huge animal. The video is also accompanied by this-is-a-funny-prank music.
The video was first posted by Captain Kelly’s twin brother Mark Kelly and it’s reportedly he who sent the gorilla suit to his brother.
Um, @StationCDRKelly, I thought you said you had things under control up there on @Space_Station? #ApeInSpace pic.twitter.com/wYu1auoA6W

Anyone who thinks it’s all work and no play in space needs to take a look at this.
“Needed a little humor to lighten up a #YearInSpace. Go big, or go home. I think I’ll do both!” Captain Kelly wrote on Instagram. Not sure if astronaut Tim Peake’s okay with this “little humor” considering it’ll be a while before he gets to return to Earth.
