The National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report and Mitigation Analysis for the Land-Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry Sector in Lebanon; a 12% net decrease in CO2 removals from the LULUCF sector was recorded between 1994 and 2012. This was mainly due to the conversion of vegetated lands into settlements.
The Climate Change Team at the Lebanese Ministry of Environment, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme and funding from GEF has produced a series of national greenhouse gas inventories and mitigation analysis reports for six of its sectors: Energy, Transport, Waste, Industrial Processes, Agriculture and Land-Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry.
