Do we need to know the importance of forests to work more on saving them? Forests provide nearly two thirds of the oxygen consumed by humans, animals, microorganisms, industries, and agriculture.
One of the greenhouse gases that trees absorb is Carbon Dioxide, and by that, of course, they decrease the amount of pollution in the air.
Forests are “home” to many animal species which are now classified as “endangered”.
Many natural remedies and medicines are found in trees, and they are more effective than other medicines found in pharmacies.
Forests are also a source of relaxation. They are one of the most important places for humans to relax and meditate. Walking in a forest makes us more aware of the nature surrounding us as well.

For all of the above, we should save forest, at least by preventing forest fires. While there are many ways to prevent forest fires, The Inspiration has publihed a new tool to prevent forest fires.
Emilio and Pouline, the website mentions, were the Creatives behind the idea created by Generali.
Idea
According to the Inspiration, “We created Birdhouse Alarm. The first birdhouse that detects fire in real time and sends a geographic location signal to fire-fighters so as they can put it out”.
The house detects smoke from a possible fire, sends a geolocated message to the Forest Fire Department, then a brigade is sent to the location to extinguish the fire.
A new way to detect forest fires early, and act on time.
Background
The background behind the whole idea is that “Every year Spain suffers from around 200 fires. In 2015, almost 40% of the north of the country was burnt. Fire prevention methods haven’t changed in 40 years, so when there is a fire it’s often impossible to reach it in time to put it out. If this situation continues, almost all the forests in the north of Spain could disappear in a period of 15 years, and some of the native species”.
So, if you were living in Spain, this might be an interesting and very important tool to prevent forest fires.
If you were living in other coutries, you can follow the steps provided by the National Geographic to prevent forest fires.
