In the town of Tannourine Fawqa in Batroun, the waterfall Baloo Balaa drops at an altitude of 250 meters inside a cave which formed a popular destination for tourists and adventure lovers.
The waterfall overlooks a hole, that is 90 meters deep, and 100 meters wide; In the middle of the hole, are three natural bridges.
The three remaining holes in the “Baloo” waterfall, however, are very complex and contain different basements, pools, and rooms that are flooded with water.
There is a “hermitage”, which is both, a gap and a cave, above the middle bridge of the waterfall.
The hermitage is 15 meters deep and 61 meters wide. The natural formation of the waterfall took about 150 million years.
Some stories of the waterfall estimate that it is 160 million years old, meaning that it is the oldest waterfall in the world.
