We usually hear about the benefits of olive oil, but have you heard about the benefits of olive leaves?

Olive leaves are a preventive agent for many health problems including joints pain, toothache, irregular heartbeats,and severe colds.

Those “heavenly” leaves were used medicinally in ancient Egypt for a number of reasons,including mummifying pharoas.

Nowadays, olive leaves’ extract is known to strengthen the immune system snd the cardiovascular system. It also boosts energy and regulates mood levels, while relieving stress.

Research suggests that olive leaves might be a true anti-viral compound because they selectively block an entire virus-specific system in the infected host.

When taken over an extended period of time, it is believed to reverse arteriosclerosis. Olive leaves are astringent and antiseptic. Both the leaves and the bark have valuable febrifuge qualities.

Olives leaves also protect you against cancer and cholesterol.

Preparation

You can buy olive leaves extract (liquid) or as a powder. However,you might even make you own olive leaf tea at home. Pick some olive leaves which were grown naturally without any fertilizers.

Oven- dry the leaves at 65 degrees Celsius in the oven. After that, crush the leaves.

Then, put 2 teaspoons of the crushed leaves in a cup of hot water. You might doslike the bitterness of the drink,so sweeten it with honey.
