Huawei has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Police that will see both parties collaborating on a long-term initiative to support the vision of Dubai and create a smarter, safer city for the wellbeing of residents. Under the agreement, Huawei and Dubai Police will work together to identify how Huawei solutions can be deployed to aid in crime prevention and reduction, improve road safety through the reduction of accidents and fatalities, as well as share knowledge on the latest innovations safeguarding cities around the world.
The MoU builds on the success of Huawei’s global Safe City Summit which was held earlier this month in Dubai and saw a global gathering of government leaders from the public safety and security sector. The summit provided insights on how cities around the world are deploying new ICT solutions by Huawei to protect their city’s property and assets, the safety of its citizens and visitors, and its emergency-service operations.
Huawei’s extensive portfolio of public safety solutions for the government sector include leading innovation in high definition video surveillance, broadband trunking, Multi-media dispatching and intelligent analytics are delivering better situational awareness to emergency service agencies. These solutions are split across six main solution offerings: Convergent Command Center, Cloud-Based Intelligent Video Surveillance, Smart Road Safety, 4G Mission-Critical Broadband Trunking, Agile Communication Network and Secured Cloud Data Center solution. Huawei’s Smart Road Safety Solution is capable of automatic number plate recognition and can easily track a vehicle across a city through video surveillance. Its smart features include capturing illegal activity like speeding, running a red light, wrong turn and so forth to increase traffic safety and reduce accidents.
Huawei Safe City solutions currently protect 400 million people in more than 100 cities across 30 countries.The solution can also generate multiple reports about traffic status in city and support related departments to make better decisions.
