Mark your calendars for June 14. Mark Zuckerberg will host his first Q&A on Facebook Live. The Facebook Inc. (FB) CEO wants to push the company’s new live-streaming capabilities, while also connecting with Facebook users.
Zuckerberg posted a short video announcement on Wednesday announcing the Q&A. The session will start at 11:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 14th. Zuckerberg did not give a time limit for this Q&A, and with over 10,000 questions/comments on his video post, he will need quite a bit of time to make a dent in the question list.
When Zuckerberg travels, he likes to hold Townhall Q&As with people of different countries. Now with the use of Facebook Live, he can do the same thing with virtually anyone from any country at the same time. He writes, “Now with Live I can hear from more of our community at once, and it’s a lot more interactive. We can cover all the big areas you’re interested in—connecting the world, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, live video, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and more.” (For more, see: Facebook’s Commitment To Virtual Reality (FB).)
Zuckerberg mentioned that comments that get the most likes will most likely be the questions he addresses in the live stream. One of the most liked questions from a user reads, “Is it possible to patch together various Facebook Live views of an event to create a “virtual reality” video view of the event in real time?” Other questions were directed towards Internet.org and Facebook’s virtual reality headset Oculus Rift, as well as many other topics.
It will be interesting to see how the Facebook team vets questions for next Tuesday. If you have a burning question to ask the Facebook superstar, now is your chance.
