Printed princesses! Michelle, Malia and Sasha Obama embraced Morocco’s love of embellished fashion at a traditional iftar — a meal eaten after sunset during Ramadan — with Princess Lalla Salma on Tuesday, June 28.

FLOTUS, 52, looked lovely in a black-and-white shirtdress with paisley panels and pearl buttons. She also modeled drop earrings.

Following their mom’s lead, Malia, 17, and Sasha, 15, also rocked paisley-print dresses. While Malia, who’s taking a gap year before heading to Harvard University in 2017, chose a long-sleeved dress piped in black, her younger sister, a rising sophomore on summer vacation, chose a burgundy dress, cinched with a wide belt.

The Obama ladies were not only joined by the princess at the Ramadan feast, but Hollywood royalty as well: Meryl Streep. The three-time Oscar winner spoke alongside the first lady at a panel for the Let Girls Learn initiative earlier that day. (While the first daughters were with their mother in Marrakech, they did not speak at the event.)

Let Girls Learn, which encourages women from all over the world to get an education, especially in countries where learning is withheld from women, was launched by the Obamas in 2015. The first lady said at the panel, “We have to change those notions that girls are only valuable for their reproductive capacity or their ability to do manual labor.”

FLOTUS added that when it came to her own education (she completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, then attended Harvard Law School), her brother, college basketball coach Craig Robinson, was one of her biggest inspirations. “I thought if he can do it, then I can do it, because I know I am smarter than him!” she joked.

Before Morocco, the Obamas stopped in Liberia. Next, they will travel to Spain before heading back to Washington, D.C., on Friday.
