Caution is being advised for anyone planning outdoor activities today as hot and humid conditions continue across much of the country.

Temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to range between 26°C and 45°C throughout the day.

Humidity will peak at 90 per cent with 20kph winds offering little respite from the heat, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

Clear skies are forecast overnight, with temperatures remaining high at 30°C, and increased humidity levels to 74 per cent.

Brisk 35kph winds, which may reach 50kph are forecast for Abu Dhabi where temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler at 40°C, but humidity will remain high at 50 per cent.

It is a similar weather picture for the Northern Emirates, with wind speeds expected to increase overnight and into Tuesday to bring the added risk to anyone suffering from breathing difficulties as a result of blowing dust.

More cloud is expected later this week to give brief respite from the summer sun.
