Alfa CEO and Chairman Marwan Hayek welcomed at the company’s new headquarters a delegation of the associations supported by Alfa under its CSR program “Alfa 4-Life”. The discussion revolved around the ongoing cooperation and the projects that have been launched, in addition to future plans.
Hayek offered donations worth 52 thousand dollars to each of SOS Children’s Villages (15,000 dollars), the Lebanese School for the Blind and Deaf (10,000 dollars), the Lebanese Autism Society (15,000 dollars), and Acsauvel (12,000 dollars). These grants are the result of fundraising campaigns launched by Alfa with its subscribers via SMS (to the number 1004), through the Alfa website, and the Alfa app.
Hayek
Hayek welcomed representatives from Sesobel, the Lebanese Autism Society, Father Andeweg Institute for the Deaf, the Lebanese School for the Blind and Deaf, Acsauvel, and SOS Children’s Villages Association, and stressed that Alfa will continue to support the associations, in keeping with their mission.
He said, “Our work in the field of technology is emotionless because we deal with inanimate objects. However, our work with you is a source of warmth, inner peace, and a permanent source of joy thanks to its great impact on people with special needs, as it gives them hope for a brighter future”.
He added, “In the context of our transparent communication policy, we will adopt further ways to inform subscribers who donate to our campaigns. In addition to our current communication means via the media and social media, we will send an SMS to each subscriber as a thank you for the contribution and to inform them about the total amount that has been collected and submitted to the association to which they donated”.
Hayek pointed out that “any amount donated by an Alfa subscriber makes a significant difference in the life of a child or an individual with special needs”. He also said, “We endeavor in all our initiatives to achieve sustainability to enable children to be productive financially and participate in the national economy. The donation campaigns aimed to support the sustainability of associations in achieving their noble objectives, and our subscribers have donated more than 650 thousand dollars since 2006. We thank them profusely for their support to our program”.
He then listened to the needs of the associations and promised to work on more targeted joint ventures.
The round table also included a short film summarizing all the projects completed between Alfa and the associations since Orascom Telecom began managing Alfa.
