A 7.6 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in the Pacific Ocean, in 108 kilometers to the west of New Caledonia, US Geological Survey said today.

The epicenter lay at the depth of 16 kilometers. There are no reports yet on victims, damages or tsunami threat.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) earlier reported a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 500 kilometers to the south-east of Vanuatu Islands. According to EMSC, the epicenter lay at the depth of two kilometers.
