A mountain animal hospital is helping an animal shelter across the sea.

Henderson County’s Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital and Veterinary Emergency Hospital are collecting donations for K’s Path, nonprofit that helps abandoned animals in Kuwait.

A staff member has family ties to the overseas organization.

“One of our staffers member’s fathers is deployed in Kuwait,” staffer Marcia Pryor said. “He’s been over there several times, and each time he goes over the people at the base will go over to the animal shelter and work with them.”

The local hospital is looking for masks, collars, leashes and other items to send to Kuwait.

It’ll be taking donations at its Flat Rock facility all of next month.
