Blueberries, asparagus, pomegranates, lemons, tangerines, mangoes, passion fruit, avocados, peppers, tangelos and grapes were some of the most demanded Peruvian products at MacFrut 2016 in Rimini, Italy, according to Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
Peru was chosen as the “partner country” of this year’s edition of MacFrut, an international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector held September 14-16.
This fair is one of the most important showcases for fruits and vegetables, cultivation machines and equipment, and processing and packaging of products.
Peruvian businesses at the fair had the chance to become widely known in the Italian market and, through it, enter or strengthen their presence in Eastern Europe countries. “Said participation is consistent with the sector’s strategy to enter new markets.”
Technology
In addition to trade promotion activities at the fair, Peruvian representatives made technology-related visits for market research and, in some cases, purchased machines and equipment.
This will allow them to offer a technologically advanced supply of products in compliance with global needs.
