General Michel Aoun’s confidence of becoming president could not have been doubted, although many people were posing questions on that confidence’s source, and one of those people was the writer of these lines.

Despite my objective approach towards the current balance of powers, I did not believe that the opportunity is already available for the arrival of General Michel Aoun to Presidency, with all that he holds of ideas and alliances. When I told him that I did not see any indications suggesting his near arrival, Aoun insisted through his reply, that there are many positive signals that confirm his idea.
It is important that “reform and change” candidate has become president of a Republic, where everything needs reform and change. Since the general has passed through several stages, intellectually, and in terms of alliances; all of which reflected in changes in his basic priorities, but what distinguishes Aoun among his fans and supporters is his actual revolution against the regime, his past that has initiated the war, and present which has become twenty-six years old, and stopped the war.

Michel Aoun’s name is associated with the idea of building the state on the ruins of the farm, and the question today is the following: How will he be able to do that, and those who facilitated his becoming president are the owners of that farm, and perhaps the reason behind nominating Aoun was their need for this farm?
A great challenge that requires time and readiness.

Congratulations to Michel Aoun, his audience, and congratulations to Lebanon.
