Happy new year to everyone who has been following up with our website, reading articles we publish, and watching our news reports. Wishing you all a year full of happiness, prosperity, and health, we cannot but tackle the environmental aspect in 2017 as well. Environmental resolutions differ between one place and another; not all countries have the same crises, and not even every city in the same country. However, there are still some everyday Eco-friendly actions that can make us advance faster in making the planet a better place to live it.

Enough with introducing the subject, and let’s give you 2017’s Eco-friendly resolutions you’ve been waiting for:

  •  3 R’s: The 3 R’s are reduce, reuse, and recycle. If you haven’t done so yet, it’s time you start doing it as soon as possible, especially that avoiding waste is the preferable option of waste management.

You can simply reduce garbage by using items with less packaging needed, by avoiding printing every document on your hands, and just sticking to the copy on your pc, etc….

Reusing means making use of items you think you no longer need, to serve another purpose. For example, an empty juice bottle could be made into a flower vase and decorated.

Recycling simply means using materials to make new products.

  • It all starts with your diet: Since the meat industry alone is a main contributor to greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane, then switching to a diet free of meat, dairy and eggs saves lots of carbon emission.

A study by the journal Climatic Change shows that this diet saves more carbon emissions than even driving a Prius.

A 2011 study by the Food and Agriculture Organization found that one third of food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted globally.

  • Reduce Car Usage: Cars emit Carbon Dioxide, which of course, has harmful effects on the atmosphere and on human beings’ health.

You can substitute car usage by walking, biking, or going by bus.
