A lot of advice were given from friends and environmentalists that we should give the Ministry of Environment and its new minister the opportunity and time, after we all suffered from the former Ministry of Environment with its both copies the original and the borrowed one, especially in the waste file.

We have been able to overcome the positives, and we hold on to the words of the great Turkish poet Nazem Hekmat stating that “the best ideas are the ones that remain unknown”.

However, the passage of all this time since the formation of the government, and the continuation of the talk about the existence of a study plan concerning the waste file and the environment in general will appear soon and it is the secret of secrets, and the continuation of the situation, or the direction towards the worst, especially by wasting the time and wasting opportunities  or from what is being leaked and prepared from incinerators to furnaces, and dumps and … and … without any respect for the deadlines or the discussions with those concerned with environmental affairs, especially the known experts and who played the most prominent role in exposing what happened during the last Government.

It is not enough for the Minister of the Environment to be clean and belong to a reformist movement and to achieve the titles of the New Testament. The time allowed is already over, the diversity of crisis has ended it and the style of secrecy and seclusion in the work of a ministry is no longer acceptable, it needs light, transparency and public dialogue because this secrecy and hidden projects have brought us to where we are today.
