This video was captured from Astronomy Now Headquarters in Tonbridge, Kent, in the UK, and shows the International Space Station appearing close to the waxing crescent Moon as it passed 405 km (252 miles) high overhead at 1926 UT on 2 April 2017. There was a lucky break in the cloud and the space station popped into view just below the Moon.
Currently working aboard the orbiting outpost are American astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Peggy Whitson, Russian cosmonauts Andrey Borisenko, Sergey Ryzhikov and Oleg Novitskiy, and French astronaut Thomas Pesquet from the European Space Agency.
