This initiative comes due to the importance of bees in normal life, which, if not for the pollination carried out, to lose humanity 85% of flowers and trees, in addition to a third of vegetables and fruits such as apples, lemon, cucumber, manga and others. Note that each bee visit and vaccinate daily about five thousand flower to make the most delicious products, and the most healthy and beneficial to humans, ie honey.

Mrs. Aoun Roquez toured the park where the beehives were placed, accompanied by Media Director at the Presidential Palace Rafiq Shalala, the Director of the Lebanese First Office, Michel Fagnanos, and a number of the staff of the Presidency, the owner of the company Marc Antoine Bou Nassif and a number of his assistants. Bou Nassif explained the characteristics of the Lebanese bees and the various stages that precede the production of honey. ”

After the tour, Aoun Roquez confirmed that “on the occasion of the World Environment Day, President Saleh enjoyed celebrating this event in a distinctive way, by placing bee kernels in the presidential palace because of the great importance of the bees and its role in breeding flowers and seedlings so that it is considered as an essential element of the environment” .

“The existence of the beehives in the garden of the Republican Palace is dedicated to respecting the ecosystem cycle and preserving the nature of this park.”

“The bees are threatened with extinction, and there is international action to preserve them as an essential part of the preservation of the environment and biodiversity, especially trees, seedlings and flowers,” she said. “These bees will be given natural honey, bearing the seal of the presidency,” she said.

For his part, Bo Nasif thanked the President of the Republic and the Republican Palace Working Group for “this visionary initiative and that the bee sector in Lebanon is one of the sectors of sustainable development that should be focused on it.

He added: “Each of the seven tombs in the park contains about 30,000 bees, and will therefore produce a very rich honey with its components due to the ecological diversity in the garden The aim of the Presidency of the Republic through this project is to raise awareness of the importance of nature and encourage the Lebanese people to preserve Them through their daily actions or even by putting the beehives in their own places. ”

L’Atelier du Miel was founded on the initiative of three young Lebanese with a passion for nature, craftsmanship and good taste, and they seek to make Lebanon the main actor of the next food revolution.
