Therapeutic tourism season to start in Egypt’s Siwa oasis, according to a press statement released on Monday by the Ministry of Environment.

“A Guide to Siwa Oasis and Sand Bath Therapy” has been prepared to promote therapeutic tourism in the oasis.

Earlier in March, Marsa Matruh Governor Alaa Abu-Zaid announced Egypt’s Oasis of Siwa as a global destination for medical and environmental tourism during The Siwa Oasis Medical Tourism Conference held in coordination with Alexandria University.

The conference discussed the establishment of a new museum that will display phases of production of olive oil. Also, new patterns for tourism in Siwa were announced during the conference, including watching birds’ migration and riding camels.

Siwa’s natural characteristics have made it an exceptional oasis and one of the most impressive nature reserves, outstanding itself from the rest of Oases in Egypt. Siwa oasis is located in the western desert where sand dunes, palm and olive trees contribute to providing natural therapy.
