An astronomy exhibition comprising of fun-filled activities was organised by students of astronomy club of Classes VII, VIII and IX at Sachdeva Public School, Rohini, on April 22.

A plethora of activities were conducted to popularise astronomy and cosmology in the school premises for students and their parents. The exhibition was an attempt to raise the interest of students in astronomy by giving them easy access to astronomical instruments like telescopes and carrying out innumerable activities related to the celestial world.

The club members demonstrated the procedure of comet-making and amazed the audience. The students and parents enjoyed hydro-rocketry, wherein they launched rockets every 20 minutes. The two activities were held alternately.

The students also popularised the safe methods of viewing the sun. Parents had a great time discovering their body weight on different planets. Games like ‘Meteor Attack’ and Ring the Planets’ attracted the audience. All in all, it was a fabulous learning experience for everyone present.

Director Sanjay Sachdeva and Principal Ravija Prakash congratulated the club members on the success of the exhibition and encouraged the students to increase awareness of the universe into which we are born.
