Tiffany Trump—daughter of Marla Maples, half-sister of Ivanka,Donald Jr., and Eric—graduated college in 2016 and will attendGeorgetown University’s law school in September. What’s a recent grad to do in between climbing two different ivory-laced ladders of academia while her dad, the president, tweets about stuff he sees on TV? Go to some fashionweeks. Host a philanthropy luncheon or two. Do the Hamptons. Double down on some hobbies?
The latter two options appear to have intersected this summer. Trump’s youngest daughter stopped by the East Hampton high-end retail store Blue & Cream, where a couple pieces of Tiffany’s jewelry made their public debut. Not Tiffany’s jewelry, as in Tiffany & Company, which, incidentally, was the inspiration for her name; this is Tiffany Trump jewelry. She has taken up crafting and her medium is iridescent metals and purple crystals.
The shop’s proprietor, Jeff Goldstein, wielding a camera phone, asked Tiffany if she made them “custom” and she answered in an affirmative “woo.” The Instagram caption reads, “@tiffanytrump stopped by to share some of her custom pieces strictly for #friendsandfamily.”
A store representative confirmed to Vanity Fair that the pieces aren’t for sale. “We are not selling the line in our store, but as a longtime customer she was excited to show off the pieces to Jeff Goldstein, the store owner,” Jonah Redel-Traub said. “Our Instagram tries to capture the culture of East Hampton and she’s definitely a person of interest right now.”
A spokesperson for Tiffany Trump also noted that she makes the jewelry as a personal project and has no intention to sell it. Though the necklaces—a boxing glove and a lightning bolt—aren’t available for purchase, they would fit into the salesman narrative that tends to touch all ends of the First Family. Ivanka Trump has the Ivanka Trump brand, though she stepped down from the company in January and no longer takes part in the day-to-day company efforts. Jared Kushner’s sister has real-estate investments from China. Donald Trump has his Emoluments Clause risks. Even Karen Pence had her towel charms. This is an enterprising group.
Ms. Trump, instead, displays restraint. The one Trump child who is of age and couldhave a business that wouldn’t immediately present a conflict of interest, has chosen not to.
