Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Telecommunications, Jamal Jarrah, and as part of the Alfa 4-Life CSR program, Alfa, managed by Orascom TMT, launched the third exhibition of sculptures made by the students of the Lebanese School for the Blind and Deaf (LSBD) entitled “Doigtés Dorés”. The exhibition was held at the Pine Residence in Beirut with the support of the French Embassy in Lebanon and H.E. Ambassador Bruno Foucher. The event was attended by Alfa CEO and Chairman Marwan Hayek as well as several parliamentary, ministerial, cultural, political, artistic and media figures.
The exhibition featured 76 sculptures made by the students who unleashed their creativity and created works of art that reflected their iron will. These students attended workshops under the supervision of sculptor Naeem Dumit and the President of the Graphic Designers Union in Lebanon, Rita Moukarzel.
During the exhibition, many sculptures were sold for the benefit of the students and the LSBD.
Jarrah
“Upon the initiative of Alfa and Mr. Hayek, we have launched a new naming for people with special needs. We called them the iron-willed, the people who are able to make achievements and give greatly to their society and country,” Minister Jarrah said. He thanked Ambassador Foucher for hosting the exhibition and pointed out that Alfa has always been a pioneer in the field of social responsibility, praising its efforts and assuring the Ministry’s support for its CSR programs. Minister Jarrah added that the Ministry will increase its support for these programs because it is an investment in the right place, an investment that gives a positive return for the society and the economy. He added “this is an investment that we need to take care of and develop and be committed to ensuring its continuity”.
Hayek
Mr. Hayek praised the high level of creativity of the students, who are an example in giving and in their love to learn and use art to express themselves and communicate.
He thanked Minister Jarrah for his faith in Alfa programs and his continuous support for every initiative launched in this context. Hayek also thanked the French Ambassador for hosting this initiative, and all those who attended this exceptional exhibition.
