The skies of the Australian city of Perth, on the west coast of the country, were stained Sunday with an intense orange color due to the fires that already affect more than 1,200 hectares.

The authorities said that at the moment there are no reports of injuries.

The intense orange color with which the sky was covered caused many residents to be encouraged to upload photos to social networks.

Firefighters warned drivers to drive carefully.

Geraldine McGregor, a 34-year-old citizen of Perth, said she “saw bright orange skies” in the very center of the city.

“When I saw that the smoke and the sky of that color I was worried because I knew it could be a big fire somewhere,” he told the BBC.

Other residents uploaded pictures with a darker sky ensuring that ash remains were falling.

The smoke could be seen even from the heights with images taken from airplanes.

The authorities hope that the weather conditions will be better from this week but this Monday the teams of firefighters continued fighting the flames in another point of the country, in New South Wales, in the east coast of the country.

Australia experienced one of its driest winters in 2017, increasing the chances of fires starting during the summer.
