The good person likes to invent everything astonishing, and that attracts attention, especially if it was associated with his life, society, and his environment, what would the case be if it resulted from a very keen concern about the environment and about preserving its beauty?
Based on this motive, the Lebanese citizen Akil Gharib celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ in his own way, by building a Christmas tree from the “tires” of cars that accumulate in large numbers in his institution every day, which is situated on the main road of Tyre – Burj Al-Shamali. This tree has attracted people, who were astonished by the idea, the way that the tree was made, and the desired end.
Gharib says to “GREENAREA” website that he has seen a similar tree while browsing online on one of the foreign website, so he liked the idea, and decided to imitate it, and benefit from the tires at his institution, especially that no one has done a similar idea in Lebanon. He cooperated with his siblings and workers at the institution to assemble the tires which amounted to a total of 150 tires of various measurements, including different “brands” and a variety of industries, and they all started painting the tires in green and “constructing” them on top of each other, forming a design that serves what is required.
Then Gharib and his “achievement” companions, decorated his tree with the usual ornaments that are used to decorate Christmas trees, and they enclosed it with an electric duct, to light it day and night in a scene that stopped all passersby and pedestrians at the city of Tyre.
Prior to this tree, how did Gharib get rid of these tires? He replies that the Municipality of the city of Tyre used to take the tires in a private truck, but he does not know where their final location used to be.
However, the situation differed completely this time, because the tires have become an Environmental Tree that encourages others to implement other similar ideas that reflect the preservation of the environment and purifying it from the tires that are thrown in the mountains, on the river banks, and the sea shores to be used in firing them for blocking of roads, which leads to destroying the environment and polluting it with black smoke and unpleasant smell.
Hoping that Gharib’s initiative will be an example for other citizens especially, the tire dealers and the fans of burning tires, which will greatly help in improving the environment and in beautifying it, purifying it, and making it more alive.
