There is an inherent relationship between the environment and politics.
However, there is a dialectical relationship between the environment and civilization, and here we mean, civilization in its true sense of culture and politics, which is based on interests and objectives, not on subjective divisions.
Where does Lebanon stand today regarding politics, which is serving the people? Where does Lebanon stand today regarding the environment, with its various direct or those forward-looking implications?
A Lebanese town “with the will of its citizens” rejects the establishment of a dam that is ineligible to Studies and does not conform with the basic specifications, while the famous Lebanese politicians refuse to speak to the residents, and these same parties disagree with each other regarding their policies, but agree on the establishment of the mentioned dam, because it serves their interests, even if they were against the town’s residents.
A Lebanese town or towns’ river was stolen and its residents are still asking for a dam whose study has been completed, but it will not come to being, because it brings no interest to the politicians.
The remnants of spaces and environmental landmarks in Beirut are violated and stolen every day, at the sight of the Lebanese officials, starting from the Pine forest, to the last Dalieh at Ramleh al-Baydah.
Many devastating economic choices against the country’s growth and its environment without any sense of responsibility, especially regarding the issue of outsourcing the wastes file and dividing it, in addition to a book of terms, which has become known to everyone as a big scandal. On the other hand, the end of deadlines following each other and the start of the countdown to mid-July, which is when al -Naameh landfill will close down, did not cause any politician to move and take any action, and this incident, of course, is an example of the reality of the officials and the reality of responsibility in the country.
A Correlation between the environment and politics, and a more accurate correlation between wastes, and thus, this is a form of politics in the country.
