A British woman proceeded to stab her daughter, aged five and two years, to death before committing suicide, because she wrongly believed that the oldest daughter had cancer.

Informed sources said in the northern county of British Staffordshire, the woman (27 years), who suffered severe depression after becoming completely convinced that her daughter Maya (5 years) infected with cancer because she found a swelling under her jaw, without consulting any doctors on this swelling.

On 12 October last year, the woman stabbed her daughter Maya, and then killed her other daughter Olga, aged 20 months, the same way in the family house while her husband was at work, according to the newspaper “Daily Mail” British.

Sources of the forensic department of the province stated that the woman committed suicide with the same knife, saying the husband, 28 years old, discovered the bodies in the afternoon when he came home from work, he was arrested at first by the police, but was released after without charges.

The court heard the testimony of a psychiatrist who was treating the woman, where he said she suffered from severe depression and was treated with antidepressants weeks before the incident, noting that she told her husband she wanted to kill herself and her two daughters.
