Who of us doesn’t get angry? We experience this feeling while driving our car sometimes, while waiting for something to happen, or when a certain matter really bothers us.
According to the “American Psychological Association“, anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you’re at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion.
“greenarea.info” conducted a phone interview with Neurologist Dr. Halim Abboud, who listed the effects of anger on our health. According to Abboud, “getting angry c
auses severe headaches, increases blood pressure, and causes spasms”.Medicinenet.com mentions that “the spasm occurs abruptly, is painful, and is usually short-lived. It may be relieved by gently stretching the muscle”.
Abboud continues that “in case the blood pressure increases, it might cause bleeding in the head or even cause heart diseases”.
What should the person do it he/she experiences anger a lot? The neurologist explains that “they should refrain from anger, since it will never solve any problem, but it will cause more problems”.
Dr. Abboud does not advise everyone who gets angry frequently to take any medicine, and sees that some people have a personality which enables them to control their anger, while other people do not have it. In case anyone can’t control his/her anger, he prescribes a medicine for them.
