If you grow roses in your garden or in some pots at home, you know what it is like to see your beautiful blooming roses becoming smaller little by little.
After some time, the rose petals start falling down, and they are so beautiful, that makes it harder to just get rid of them. What can we do with these rose petals we love dearly?
Here are some ideas you might be interested in trying:
1- Make Rose Water
According to holistichealthherbalist website, this is what you’ll need to make rose water:
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Spring water
• Dried red rose petals
• A funnel
• A glass bowl
• A nut milk bag
• A spray bottle
Preparation:
• In a small clean pot, bring the spring water to a boil (I measured a little more water than would fit in my 4oz spray bottle)
• Next, add in a handful of dried red rose petals (you can use fresh but make sure they are fragrant and not sprayed with chemicals)
• Cover the pot and gently simmer the rose petals until they lose their color
• Turn off the heat and let the rose water cool completely
• Once cool, strain the rose water in the nut milk bag in the glass bowl
• Pour the strained rose water into a spritzer bottle
• Use daily and often! Will keep for 7 days at room temperature or up to a month in the fridge
2- Pressed Rose Petal Tray
You can make a beautiful pressed rose petal tray, which is both food safe and beautiful.
Sayyes.com website lists all the steps for this beautiful gift.
3- Floating Rose Petal Reception Centerpieces
greenbridgeguide.com website explains that “one of the wonderful things about rose petals is that they float. Their delicate and slightly oily surface repels water, so any drops that fall on the petals will bead into perfect cylindrical jewels. Soft pink roses are perfect for a water display with floating candles.
4- Rose Petal Garlands
The website also teaches how rose petal garlands could be made: “Use thread to string your rose petals together, creating garlands you can use for a wide variety of decorations, from Hawaiian-like leis to hanging tendrils swaying in the breeze”.
