The construction of the renewable energy station in Shagaya- Kuwait, is part of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s vision for the future, said Chairman of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Sabah Thursday.
During his inspection of the facility, Sheikh Abdullah told the press that the project will enable Kuwait to benefit from clean energy, noting that it would contribute to the nation’s vision of increasing this source of energy by 15 percent in 2030.
A statement by the EPA said that the station will produce about 6 million megawatts of electricity and will reduce dependency oil as the main source of energy.
It will reduce pollution and provide some new job opportunities, said the statement.
