Confused of how to deal with a new born puppy without a mother?…This might seem like a surprising question, except if we knew the number of people who find difficulty figuring out the “Know-how”, when it comes to dealing with those little cute creatures.

I know someone who got two new born puppies; they’re only 9 days old. He is finding it a bit difficult to take care of them; after all, they are still babies, and they consume a lot of their guardian’s time. So why not deal with them in a correct way?

This text is mainly for anyone who is finding this sort of difficulty with their little puppy…

If your puppy was without his mother, then you should know that he needs more care than one who can be fed by his mother.

Here are a list of basic things you should be providing for your puppy, so that it grows in a healthy way:

  • Substitute the mother’s milk with another type of milk
  • Remember to feed your puppy every 2 or 3 hours
  • The puppy must be fed with a special bottle made for him
  • Keep feeding your little baby until he stops
  • After feeding him each time, wipe his face
  • New-born puppies are not able to regulate their own body temperature, so you should provide additional heat in the puppy’s box by placing a heating pad under the bedding. Set the heat to “low” to avoid the risk of overheating. As a new-born, the puppy cannot move away if it gets too hot.
  • Make sure that anyone who visits your new born puppies removes their shoes, as a step aiming to stop the germs from being transmitted to the puppy.
  • Remember that a hungry puppy is a noisy puppy; this is one of the times when you should remember feeding him.
  • When your puppy is four weeks old, you can start feeding him every 4 hours.

Enjoy watching your puppy growing.

We will provide other pieces of information in later articles, which will be about all the vaccines that should be done as your puppy is growing older.
