As most of Europe enjoys wet weather and fights flooding, Abu Dhabi is embracing the water and continuing on with construction of their epic floating museum.

A version of the famous Louvre, the art gallery is set to open soon, and will add to the luxury collection of floating buildings in the UAE.

The large dome, will be part of something much bigger project: “Museum city” which is set to comprise over 50 buildings.

In keeping with its French counterpart, the Abu Dhabi Louvre was designed by the award-winning French architect Jean Nouvel .

As the video shows, the stunning installation will be a true spectacle and a coup for tourism in Abu Dhabi as its hoped to encourage tourists to visit for the injection of culture.

The museum is set to host art from all over the world, and the UAE hope to emulate the Louvre in Paris, which receives around 10 million visitors each year.

Despite not yet being finished, the budding museum has created waves, as the temporary walls have been removed allowing the sea to flow right up to it.

Adding to the spectacular event the Abu Dhabi Museum promises to be, a nightly illumination spectral will occur as the building is lit up by almost 5,000 lights.
