Each person chooses his/her own way to save the environment. Pianist Ludovico Einaudi, chose to raise his voice through his music, in a very creative way. He played  “Elegy for the Arctic” live at the Arctic.

In order to make world leaders hear what is really happening in the Arctic, “Greenpeace” shipped a piano from Germany to the Arctic.

Unfortunately, what happened while the pianist was playing the beautiful tunes, is that an Arctic shelf collapsed in front of him.

In a statement before the performance, the pianist said: “I’ve been about to see the purity and fragility of this area with my own eyes and perform a song that I composed on the best stage in the world.”

The following video was posted by “Greenpeace” Spain on Youtube:

“Greenpeace” wrote in the description: “Through his music, acclaimed Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi has added his voice to those of eight million people from across the world demanding protection for the Arctic. Einaudi performed one of his own compositions on a floating platform in the middle of the Ocean, against the backdrop of the Wahlenbergbreen glacier (in Svalbard, Norway)”.

The international environmental organization is currently running a campaign to get government officials to create the first Marine Protected Area to safeguard 10 percent of the Arctic Ocean at this week’s OSPAR (Oslo-Paris) commission in Tenerife, Spain.

Scientists are often warning about the Arctic’s melting ice, and say that that phenomenon is one of the most significant, warning of worse results for the planet.

The Pianist’s performance was so touching, and many social media users were tweeting their emotions after watching the performance. “I’m crying, the most touching piano performance I’ve ever seen so far. Yes, please save the earth. Save us,” says Twitter user Elma Alfiah.
