Collecchio, a small town in the province of Parma in Italy only allows the use of silent fireworks in order to ensure the health of its animal residents.
A large celebration always feels incomplete without a grand firework display. May it be Diwali in India or 4th of July in the US, fireworks have always been an integral part of the traditional celebrations. While we may roll out our mats and relax to watch the fireworks display, our animals do not want to be anywhere near it.
The loud noise and smoke that accompanies the explosions are known to be very unhealthy for domestic animals, says a reporter from Excite. They cause health problems like nausea, tremors, debilitating fears and light-headedness. The sensitive hearing of pets causes them to develop a condition known as ‘acoustic stress’ because of the noise.
