Temperatures will continue to rise across the country as dust clouds reduce visibility to less than 1.5 kilometres.

Partly cloudy skies over the eastern and southern areas of the country coupled with winds picking up sand and dust will lead to haze, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology reports.

Residents suffering from asthma are advised to stay indoors where possible and to always carry inhalers.

Forecasters have urged residents heading to the beach or partaking in water activities to exercise caution as the Sea of Oman and Arabian Gulf are expected to be rough.

Temperatures along the coast will range between 30°C and 47°C with lows of 27°C and highs of 49°C expected inland.

The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Wednesday was 21.8°C in Jebal Mebreh at 12.30am
