Animal protection organizations launched a petition calling for the closure of a zoo that operates within a commercial center of China with more than 500 animals, including Pizza, the polar bear known as the ‘sadder in the world’.

Pizza is a polar bear living in a place for animal protection organizations “AnimalsAsia” and “Peta” known as the ” sadder animal in the world”. To get him out of there they have begun a campaign to collect signatures through Care2.org and Change.org to ask for the closure of the place also exhibits arctic wolves, whales, walruses and other animals to attract tourists and already added more 400 thousand people to the cause.

Pizza is one of the main attractions of the zoo “Grandview” located within a shopping center in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, a place that opened last January and has already received dozens of complaints about animal abuse. In the case of Bear polar live in a small place and it is constantly exposed to visiting tourists who hit the glass to get his attention, while some videos sees him goleando crystals as “calling out”.

Caught in the middle of a shopping

David Neale, director of AnimalsAsia said the place where Pizza lives “is a prison for animals , ” adding “capturing and displaying animals in a zoo is, for us, indefensible. But when they also suffer from the conditions that we see in Grandview … it is the worst possible situation. ”

In this regard he said through a statement that “Pizza is caught in the middle of a shopping center, no place to hide from the flashes of cameras. He keeps banging against the windows and screaming. ”

He urged the Chinese public and tourists “not to attend the zoo “, while calling on the authorities to close the place.
