Nova Scotia’s Natural Resources Department says crews have made “significant progress” battling 10 wildfires across the province.
The province says the largest blaze, a 400-hectare fire in Seven Mile Lake in Annapolis County, was 45 per cent contained Thursday evening.
It says all other fires, including the one at Ten Mile Lake, have been completely contained, but are still being patrolled because conditions remain very dry.
The government says Trunk 8 highway remains closed because of water bombing activity.
Restrictions also remain on activities within forests such as hiking, camping and fishing in a bid to keep more bone-dry woods from going up in flames.
