This article is all about my first solar power system, and why I chose to get it. Solar power systems have always been quite far from practically trying them for most of us (I’m one of those people), despite knowing all their benefits theoretically. While it is costly to have a full solar power system for our home, I found a solar power system of another type, I’m going to tell you a bit about in the following lines.
Let me first remind you that solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Usually, solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam.
As the above picture shows, the solar power system is charged through sunlight. I realized that it charges more if there was direct sunlight. Instead of using electricity to charge my phone, I am now using this system. It is very easy to plug the two light bulbs that came with it, without using any electricity. Imagine how much energy we would be saving if we started using solar energy on a daily basis, for various purposes.
I am even using this solar power system to listen to music on the radio, or through a USB that can be plugged into it.
True, this is just a little solar power system, but if we increased the usage of such energy (solar), we would be helping the planet more than ever.
