The Spanish Agricultural Insurance System, Agroseguro, has announced a first payment tranche for the total losses caused by the rain in July, totalled at EUR15.5 million (USD17.4 mln).
Tomato growers damaged by the hail storms hitting Spain at the beginning of July, will receive an initial compensation of EUR9.10 mln and the rest will be paid at the end of the season.
