Hearing stories about rescued animals put a smile on our face, and once we know that some people dedicate much of their time for that cause, it gives us more hope of making the world a better place to live in. While ASPCA mentions that 2.7 million animals are adopted each year (1.4 million dogs and 1.3 million cats), there is still much work to be done.

We are sharing an interesting story about Zeinoun al-Naboulsi and his family, who have rescued and adopted 9 cats, so far. We interviewed Zeinoun, who told us about his love for animals ever since he was a little kid. Despite his allergy at a young age, he always loved cats, and had the chance to take care of his neighbor’s cat; that was the first cat.

Years after that incident, he saved pocket money, along with his sister, in order to buy sardines for his pets. Every now and then, Al-Naboulsi, his mother and sister rescued cats that have either lost their parents, or are in danger if they stayed on the road.

What is really significant is the story of the ninth cat. After Zeinoun’s father has said that 8 cats are enough to live at home, he (Zeinoun’s father) was the one to rescue the ninth kitten and bring it home.

The animal lover is participating in a competition that is organized by Animals Lebanon, to mark World Animal Day, and drive people to adopt animals, instead of buying them. He needs more votes in order to win a trip for 2 (in this case, it will be Zeinoun and his mother), to London.
