Be cautious when driving out this weekend, as weather forecasters predict foggy conditions that will reduce visibility to 1,000 metres.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that mist and fog is expected to gradually form on Thursday, concentrating on the Western region.

The Western region includes the areas between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, as well as Abu Dhabi and Madinat Zayed.

However, by Friday morning, the fog will hit Dubai and Abu Dhabi and will become stronger in density, with humidity levels reaching up to 98 per cent.

The weather forecaster at NCMC told Gulf News said: “The fog on Friday will be stronger than the previous day, and will affect visibility across the roads of the UAE. The mist and fog is also expected to continue through to Saturday morning.”

Temperatures will also be cooler in the mountains with highs of 29 degree Celsius and lows of 22 degree Celsius forecasted.

If you are living in the city though, it will take at least a couple of more weeks before the weather significantly cools down, as the NCMS forecaster expects this weekend’s temperature to drop by only one or two degrees Celsius.
