As part of the national day of cleaning the Lebanese beach called for by the Great Blue Campaign, the Southern Greens Association and the Municipality of Abbasiyah organized a clean-up campaign for the Beqabouk Beach, a beach protected area presented to the Ministry of Environment.

The campaign was accompanied by a process of sorting out inorganic waste, the municipality of Abbasiyah in the person of its head Haj Khalil Harashi, a number of members of the Council and activists of the southern Greens, in addition to students of the Abbasid intermediate official and the National Scouts of Education and representatives of the Great Blue Campaign and citizens of the call.

The beach is one of the sites of nesting sea turtles threatened with extinction on the Lebanese coast and also includes a variety of coastal vegetation rich and rare, including a rare coastal forest spot, as well as the presence of fresh water wells several kisses and some of the largest on the Lebanese coast.

At the end of last year, the municipality of Abbasiya approved the proposal of Abasiya Beach Nature Reserve, submitted by the Southern Greens Association. The proposed municipality was submitted to the Ministry of Environment.
