Under the title of promoting ecotourism, highlighting the Litani River and protecting it from pollution, and preserving its water wealth, the Litani River Club organized a village championship in the Kano Kayak river rafting in the riverbed, in collaboration with the Union of Municipalities of Jabal Amel and a number of municipalities in the adjacent region .
MP Ali Fayyad, launched the siren for the participants in this sport and environmental race, which was attended by amateurs, who came from various regions of Lebanon, where they cut their boats, from Khardali bridge to the club Kayak, a distance of one kilometer.
Upon arrival at the club’s headquarters, they were received by MP Fayyad, Vice President of the Union of Municipalities of Jabal Amel Ziad Ghnawi and President Ali Awadah and his assistants.
“We feel as if we are involved in this new sport, and we will encourage it, because it has a lot of fun to attract young people to their practice,” he said.
MP Ali Fayyad, said on the occasion that we not only have to pay attention to the Litani River on the environmental level and pollution, but we have to revive activities, such as Canoe Kayak, which strengthens the relationship between the different regions of Lebanon, pointing out that we will be alongside this club through cooperation to attract the Lebanese, To visit the region and learn about the sport and promote ecotourism.
At the end of the ceremony, medals and cups were distributed to the winners.
