Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a 5-star contemporary, modern and elegant property based in one of the most dynamic locations in Dubai – Jumeirah Lakes Towers.

Green Globe recently recertified Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers for the third consecutive year. The hotel was awarded a high compliance score of 82% which is above the average standard scores of hotels in the region.

Daniel Kaan, General Manager at the hotel said, “We sincerely take pride in this milestone event, not only for exceeding the industry standards but also for setting relevant environmental benchmarks. Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers is an organization that genuinely cares about the welfare of our guests and values the preservation of our resources just as much.”

Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers uses a Building Management System (BMS) to control and monitor all electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This integrated approach contributes toward efficient resource consumption and conservation. In 2016,a total savings of 32% was accumulated from utilities including electricity, water, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and heating, ventilation & air-conditioning (HVAC).

One of the hotel’s major eco-projects includes the conversion of all halogen bulbs to LED lighting in all areas of the hotel. Along with this transition, timing systems were adjusted and motion sensors were installed in all common areas resulting in a significant increase in overall electricity savings. Last year, carbon emissions also dropped to 24.62% as a result of monthly scheduled filter cleaning and adjustments to automated power-saving timers on air-conditioning units in public areas of the hotel.

While resource conservation is a key area of focus for hotel management, initiatives that will reduce negative impacts and protect the environment are also important. A waste management strategy has been implemented with goals to minimize landfill. Eco-friendly waste collection agencies are preferred for the sorting and recycling of garbage. The hotel achieved a total waste diversion rate of 28.29% in 2016.

Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers also supports the community’s drive towards sustainability as it proactively participates in community projects such as Kilo of Kindness, Blood Donation Drives, the Dubai Marathon, Adopt A Camp, Earth Hour, Power Bites Cooking Class, and the Meet & Save The Environment initiative whereby the hotel provides sustainable meetings and events services for its guests.
