Today is the anniversary of the Lebanese civil war.

Forty years since it started, and its consequences in various forms have not ended yet; they are nestled in every aspect, even though the absolute majority of citizens do not want to repeat this experience or approach it.

The State was not formed in Lebanon since the establishment of the entity, neither was it formed with the independence. As for the construction harbingers that marked certain fields in the Mandate period, and were developed as much as possible by the president Fouad Chehab, they were quickly undone. Moreover, they were systematically destroyed at the hands of the political class which inherited the governance in all shapes since the establishment time and until today.

Because the state is absent, there is no framework that brings together or allows the closure of the civil war file and the end of its repercussions. Neither is there any real possibility to hold accountable the violators of the constitution and the law, and the public and private rights. However, the following theory will remain dominant: God forgive the past, and resetting the counter and the amnesty.

During the statelessness, and in the memory of the continued absence of the missing during the war, and the lack of law enforcement and amid the ongoing claim about development and civilization, and the country of radiance, light, and the insistence on appearances and formalities, there is a genuine question… In a political, national and legal corrupt environment, what is the normal environment that is expected to be taken care of and maintained from the rulers of the state?
