The most important event in our history and any other country’s history is liberation. Liberation in its wide meaning is sovereignty, identity, independence, and building the state. In Lebanon, as in many other Arab countries, the common points between different groups are still absent, and no matter how much the reasons and the motives varied, the absence of the state as an idea, organization, and institution remains the reason for keeping this distancing between different Lebanese parties. Where are we today from Liberation? Where are we from the axioms that build the country, and which country are we talking about? Starting from the Israeli threat, to that of terrorism, and reaching the how-to build the state, the economy, and all the other aspects in Lebanon. 15 years ago, the idea of rebuilding a new Lebanese nationality and identity, based on different grounds and building the state on a solid base, that is not similar in any way to Lebanon in its weak moments showed up, but all of this went in another direction. 25 May, just like 14 May, are two phases in the history of the country that constitute the biggest course of building the identity, belonging, and fate. However, they will not transform into these three things until they are linked to a new understanding of building the state on a contrary basis to our current reality regarding economy, management, and society. 25 years ago, the chance of rebuilding Lebanon was lost, on different basics than the ones that established it as a weak entity, economically and socially, and since 15 years, the chance of the new identity was lost. Hoping that the next chance will not go through an extremely difficult journey as the past one, since all circumstances and situations could not bear such a choice. What is left is that the happiness of Liberation and success in proving the choice of resistance, which was refused tens of years ago, is the only right path to reach a country, and a nation one day, and not stay a collective of sects and tribes.
